Time to pink up to support breast cancer!
On May 14th the Melbourne Softball Association will be ‘pinking up’ as we take part in Breast Cancer Network Australia’s (BCNA) annual Pink Sports Day.
The MSA will join hundreds of sporting groups nationwide to show our support for people in our local community who have been affected by breast cancer.
This year BCNA hopes to raise $550,000 for Australian women, men and families affected by breast cancer and is calling on all sporting groups and their communities to help achieve this goal.
Funds raised through Pink Sports Day go directly to BCNA to support their work in ensuring Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care.
Christine Nolan, BCNA CEO, said it is important that women in communities all over Australia know that they are not alone on their breast cancer journey.
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women and this year nearly 17,586 Australian women and 144 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer,” Christine said.
“Pink Sports Day is a wonderful event that inspires great community participation and spirit while raising awareness and vital funds for BCNA, and we are very grateful for your support,” she said.
The MSA is inviting members of our community to ‘pink up’ and come down to cheer us on as we play in support of those affected by breast cancer.
