Slowpitch Leagues

Summer Slowpitch League

We conduct a recreational slowpitch (modified softball) mixed-gender competition over summer daylight savings time. Teams select a preferred night (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings) and play on that night each week. The focus is on fun, friendships and well being in an enjoyed relaxed environment.

You will find an abridged version of slowpitch rules here but basically slowpitch is true fastpitch softball modified to enable players of all ages, abilities and skill levels to enjoy a fun game. The variances are mainly in the pitching style and baserunning. The social nature of the league is such that teams do not train other than a warm up session prior to their scheduled game.

Cost is charged to each team (approx $1400.00 all inclusive (being equipment, umpires, insurance) for the seventeen week season) and the teams determine how this is obtained.  Some charge each player a cost share ($1400 / minimum 10 players /15 weeks = ~$9.00 per week), others seek sponsorship or company funding etc.

First games commence in the second week of November (COVID is impacting our starting date this year) and conclude mid March with a short break over Christmas/New Year. Games are scheduled to commence each week at 6.45 pm and teams assemble at approx 6.15 pm at the Northern Pavilion (our clubrooms) in Fawkner Park.
