Disability Sport and Recreation Festival 2014

The aim of the festival is to encourage people with a disability to try a sport or a recreational activity in an environment that is inclusive and supportive as well as helping to raise awareness of the opportunities available to them.

ViCSOTeamAfter successfully hosting the softball component of the Special Olympics National Games at Fawkner Park last month we are now turning our attentions to helping out with the festival by offering pop in days on the 2nd-4th December in conjunction with our regular slowpitch activities. The evening will involve a come ‘n try session from 5:30-6:30 pm followed by a game.

Please share this around to any family or friends who you think might benefit, or if you think you can spare an hour or two on the above evenings we’d love to see you in the park.

The following is taken from the DSRF webapge:

The 2014 Disability Sport & Recreation Festival is Victoria’s premier event for the disability sport and recreation sector. Running from 1 to 7 December, this unique community event promotes and celebrates physically active lifestyles for all people of all abilities through participation in accessible and inclusive sport and recreation.

The Festival is run by Disability Sport & Recreation, a Victorian charity committed to improving the health outcomes of Victorians with disability through sport and recreation.
